This handsome 2025 1 oz silver bullion Krugerrand coin is minted by the world-famous Rand Refinery of South Africa in 0.999 pure silver.  

Having the distinction of having refined over 50,000 tonnes of gold since it first opened in 1921, the Rand Refinery, located near Johannesburg, is also famous for the production of the Gold Krugerrand bullion coin.

Like the gold Krugerrand, the silver Krugerrand coin features the same image as its gold counterpart, South Africa’s national symbol the Springbok, along with the year of minting and the coin’s face value and silver weight.

The obverse of the coin features a head portrait of Paul Kruger, South Africa’s first president, along with the words ‘South Africa’ in Afrikaans and English.

The name Krugerrand comes from a combination of the portrait of Paul Kruger on the coin and the term Rand which refers to the South African currency, itself derived from South Africa’s gold mining district, the Witwatersrand.

Individual coins are delivered in coin flips, orders in increments of 25 Silver Krugerrand coins are delivered in Rand Refinery mint tubes, while orders of 500 silver Krugerrands are shipped in a monster box.
