Arkansas’s Gold & Silver Bullion Tax Laws

The state of Arkansas doesn’t levy taxes on the sale of gold, silver, and platinum bullion nor does it tax capital gains. Arkansas residents must pay United States federal capital gains taxes, however.

Legislative Developments

• In 2021, Arkansas Senate Bill 336 was signed into law, exempting precious metals bullion from state sales taxes.
• In 2023, Arkansas House Bill 1718 was signed into law, ending state-level capital gains taxation on precious metals bullion.
